Misol-Ha & Agua Azul. We need cool down!
The chilly temperatures won’t last long. It became hot again. That meant: We needed to find water to cool down. The waterfall “Misol-Ha” is very close and according to our book, camping is possible on the parking lot. That was our next destination so. After four relaxing days in Palenque we pack up and reach Misol-Ha after a short drive. The parking lot is huge and clean. We only pay 100 Pesos for camping with showers, restrooms and the entrance to the waterfall.
The waterfall itself is impressive and 30m high. The pool to swim was kind of green and dirty so we did not swim but we still got a little cool down while walking behind the fall. At the end of the small path, there is even a cave which looked interesting. As we did not have flashlights with us, we decided to do that tomorrow morning.
Next morning we grabbed our headlights and went in the cave. Sure, Lissy needed to come, too. She was a little scared in the beginning as it was all dark, but she got used to it and did very well.
We also went to the “Agua Azul” cascades. It’s amazing. We thought it’s just a small cascade and clear water but it’s not small at all. The river branches out many times and builds “pools” where you can swim. This is fun!!! At lunch time it got really crowded. Looked like lots of people come to swim and eat here. Sure, there are many! food and souvenir stands.
