Den Campingplatz in Chetumal bzw. Calderitas, einem kleinen Ort bei Chetumal kennen wir schon. Er hat alles „was wir brauchen“. Saubere Toiletten, Duschen, Strom, Wasser, Meer, Pool, Wifi, eine große grüne Wiese für Lissy! Wir fühlen uns pudelwohl und bleiben eine Woche. Wir unternehmen nicht viel. Arbeiten an Berichten, schauen uns eine Ruine an und machen einen kleinen Ausflug zum Strand in der Nähe.
Wir sind über das große Osterwochenende hier und erleben, dass Ostern nicht für alle Mexikaner „DAS“ heilige Fest darstellt wie man so oft hört. Über die Osterfeiertage füllt sich der Campingplatz, es kommen Familien zum zelten und Leute aus Belize mit großem Wohnanhänger und natürlich einige Tagesgäste die im Restaurant essen.

Jan kann endlich wieder seinen Gleitschirm auspacken. Morgens ist der Wind am Besten und es ist noch nicht zu heiß, also heißt es: Früh aus den Federn krabbeln und fertig machen zum Abheben. Dank Trailer gibt es einen großen Vorteil: Ich kann „zu Hause“ bleiben während Jan mit dem Toyota inkl. Ausrüstung einen geeigneten Startplatz sucht.

We already knew the Camp „Yax Ha“ in Chetumal respectively in Calderitas, a small town close to Chetumal. We had everything „we needed“: Clean restrooms, Shower, Electricity, Water, the Ocean, a Swimming pool, wifi and a huge grassy lot for Lissy. We felt very happy and contented and stayed for one week. We did not do much. Worked on some reports for the homepage, went to see a ruin close by and made a little trip to the beach.
We spent the easter time her and got to see that easter is not „THE“ holy event for all Mexicans. The campground was full with people who just came to eat at the restaurant and splash in the pool as well as camper and people with huge motorhomes from Belize. Also we met two german couples who we already met some time before.

Jan did find time to unpack his paraglider and got up early because the morning wind is best and also because it’s not too hot then. The trailer is a good advantage therefor: I can stay „at home“ while Jan drives with the car and equipment to find a good place to start.
